Rapper Offset was shot on Monday, April 6, in Hollywood, Florida, and is currently in stable condition, according to his spokesperson. He is being treated for a gunshot wound and remains under close observation.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Seminole Police confirmed the situation was contained quickly, with two individuals detained. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the site continues normal operations.
Offset, real name Kiari Cephus, rose to fame as one-third of Migos alongside Quavo and Takeoff. The group achieved global hits including ‘Bad and Boujee’ and albums such as ‘Culture’. He has also pursued a solo career with albums including ‘Father of 4’, ‘Set It Off’ and ‘Kiara’, and most recently released ‘Haunted by Fame’.
The shooting follows a tragic family history, as his cousin Takeoff was shot and killed in 2022. Offset previously spoke about the grief he endured following Takeoff’s death, describing it as profoundly difficult to discuss publicly.
Offset married US singer and rapper Cardi B in 2017 and the couple have three children.
