Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a man and recovered weapons during an operation in Pekua upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Thursday.
AM Faruk, assistant director (law and media) of RAB‑15, confirmed the detention around 11am. The detainee was identified as Ahammad Nur.
Acting on a tip‑off, RAB learned several individuals had gathered near an intersection to buy and sell narcotics. When the raid was conducted at 1:45am, Nur attempted to flee but was caught.
Officials seized two locally‑made single‑shooter guns, two live cartridges, two used shells and five rounds of pistol bullets.
ASP Faruk said a case has been filed against Nur under the Arms Act and he has been handed over to Pekua Police Station.
