Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to present the Ekushey Padak and formally inaugurate Amar Ekushey Book Fair on 26 February.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury shared the details with journalists on Saturday, confirming that all necessary preparations for both events have been finalised.
According to the schedule, the prime minister will attend the Ekushey Padak presentation ceremony in the morning.
During the event, he will hand over the prestigious awards to distinguished personalities in recognition of their significant contributions to various fields.
In the afternoon, the prime minister will visit Bangla Academy premises as the chief guest to officially inaugurate the book fair.
In a notable move this year, the government has completely waived the stall rent for all participating publishing houses. Publishers have reportedly expressed their appreciation, viewing the decision as a positive step for the industry.
