Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to unveil July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum on Wednesday at 9am, marking a landmark moment in the preservation of the uprising’s history.
Following formal inauguration, the prime minister will conduct a comprehensive tour of the entire facility.
While the museum will be open exclusively to the families of martyrs on its inaugural day, public will be granted access starting Thursday.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury confirmed the schedule during a press conference at Secretariat on Tuesday.
Addressing administrative concerns, the minister said any specific allegations of irregularities regarding the museum’s construction or management would be investigated with due gravity.
The inauguration coincides with a series of nationwide programmes organised to observe July Mass Uprising Day.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom announced that a grand concert will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan on Wednesday afternoon as part of the celebrations.
He further noted that the museum would be progressively enriched and developed over time.
Regarding visitor access, Cultural Affairs Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman clarified that general visitors can enter from Thursday by purchasing tickets. Entry fees have been set at Tk50 for adults and Tk25 for children.
According to Cultural Affairs Ministry, the ceremony will host a distinguished gathering, including high-ranking government officials, diplomats, academics, intellectuals, July fighters, and families of the martyrs.
