Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reached Jashore Monday morning on his first official visit to the district since assuming office. He is scheduled to inaugurate development projects and attend a public rally.

Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said the premier landed at Jashore Airport at 10:20am on a domestic flight. “The Prime Minister has departed for Jashore by a scheduled flight,” he said.

During the day‑long itinerary, Tarique will inaugurate the Ulashi Canal excavation project in Sharsha upazila and address a civic reception there.

Following Zuhr prayers and lunch at the Jashore Circuit House, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Jashore Medical College Hospital and visit Jashore Institute Public Library.

In the afternoon, he will speak at a public rally at Jashore Central Eidgah Ground, organised by the district unit of BNP.

He is expected to return to Dhaka by air in the evening after completing his programmes.

This marks Tarique’s first trip to Jashore as head of the government. His last visit was on 2 February, when he addressed an election rally at Jashore Upashahar Degree College Ground as BNP chairman.
