Playard has concluded a three-day football esports tournament that drew more than 200 players from across Bangladesh, highlighting the growing popularity of competitive gaming in the country.
The company said in a statement that the Goal Battles – Football Gaming Championship, organised in collaboration with Arrobat, was held at Centrepoint in Uttara from July 16 to 18, with 64 teams competing in an elimination-format tournament.
Zayed Ul Haque emerged as champion after defeating Faiyazul Islam Rimon in the grand final, while Rimon finished as runner-up.
The tournament began with more than 200 participants before progressing through the Round of 64, Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals to determine the finalists.
Playard said the event brought together gamers, spectators and esports enthusiasts while providing a platform for players, brands and fans to engage with Bangladesh’s expanding gaming community.
The company said the championship reflects its efforts to promote competitive gaming and create entertainment experiences centred on community participation, competition and innovation.
The event comes as Bangladesh’s esports ecosystem continues to expand, with tournament organisers and technology companies increasing investment in competitive gaming to attract a growing base of young players and audiences.
