Authorities have sealed four warehouses reportedly belonging to Sheikh Nur Islam, father-in-law of content creator Salman Muqtadir, after finding duty-free alcohol stored at a facility that was not authorised for such storage.
The warehouses belong to TOS Bond Pvt Ltd in Gulshan, where a joint team led by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) conducted an operation late on Thursday night following a tip-off.
Officials from the DNC, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department and the Special Response Battalion (SRB) took part in the operation.
During the inspection, officials checked the company’s registers, its National Board of Revenue (NBR)-approved software and the goods physically stored at the warehouse and found preliminary discrepancies in its warehouse arrangements, according to a press release.
According to the authorities, the company’s software showed 144 cans of beer, 12 bottles of whisky and six bottles of Nemiroff as having been cleared under “Exbond” status.
However, the products were still found physically stored at the warehouse.
Officials also found a discrepancy involving 2,250 cartons of imported Heineken beer.
The company’s software recorded the consignment as “Inbound” on 3 September 2026, but the goods could not be found at the warehouse during the inspection.
The authorities further said the company has four floors, but the required customs approval or documentation for two of the floors could not be found.
Following the inspection, customs authorities sealed all four warehouses in the presence of DNC officials under the relevant customs provisions.
The authorities said further verification is under way and that necessary legal action will be taken based on the findings.
