Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 428 individuals, including 17 members of banned organisations, during regular drives across the capital in the past 24 hours.
A total of 79 cases were registered at various police stations during this period. The information was disclosed in a press release on Friday.
According to DMP, the arrestees include 118 from Mirpur Division, 62 from Tejgaon Division, 46 from Wari Division, 42 from Ramna Division, 41 from Lalbagh Division, 39 from Motijheel Division, 38 from Uttara Division, 36 from Gulshan Division, five from Detective Branch (DB), and one from Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) division.
During the drives, law enforcers seized two switchgear knives, 386 Yaba tablets, 7.96kg of cannabis, two motorcycles, five mobile phones, one SSD card, and one laptop.
Further legal proceedings against the individuals are underway.
