Residents and businesses in several areas of Sylhet city will experience an 11-hour power suspension on Saturday.
According to a notice signed by the Executive Engineer of the Power Development Board (PDB) Sylhet Sales and Distribution Division-3, the power outage will remain in effect from 7am to 6pm on Saturday.
The interruption is required for transformer repairs and the upgrading of transmission lines under the 11 KV Police Line and Industry Feeders.
The affected areas include Railway Station, Kadamtoli, Alampur, Gotatikar, the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, DIG Office, BSCIC Industrial Area, Bypass Road, South Surma Police Station, Pirizpur, Chandipul, and Gaharpur.
Furthermore, the suspension will extend to North East Medical College, Bongobir Road, Boldi, Lotipur, Baneswarpur, Tetultala, Daroga Bari, Lalarchak, Ahmedpur, Khidirpur, Telibazar, Tetli, Atirbari, and Lakshmipur, along with their surrounding localities.
The PDB authorities have clarified that if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule, power supply will be restored immediately. The Sales and Distribution Division-3 of the Sylhet Power Development Board has expressed sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to its consumers.
