Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun has officially commenced production on his debut feature-length film, ‘Moving Bangladesh’, following six years of careful preparation.
The shoot, supported by Goopy Bagha Productions, began on April 8, marked by an eight-day countdown campaign.
Filming will span 20 locations across Dhaka and is scheduled to continue until mid-May, after which the team will move into post-production. The narrative focuses on the trials and perseverance of a motorbike rider navigating the city’s challenges.
Speaking to the press, Nuhash confirmed that the cast will be revealed later. “The lead is a newcomer rather than a star,” he said. “We took considerable time auditioning to ensure the actor truly embodies the character.”
Nuhash, known for his short films and acclaimed web series, emphasised the importance of patience in developing his first feature. “I wanted to create this project on my own terms. Years were spent refining the script, planning the budget, and shaping the story. Rushing was never an option,” he explained.
Moving Bangladesh has attracted international support, securing funding from multiple platforms.
In 2021, the Taipei Film Commission granted $89,800, followed by Tk25 lakh from Syncraft Film Fund.
The project has also benefited from the Marché du Film at Cannes, the Locarno Film Festival, Tokyo’s grant market and India’s Film Bazaar.
