Kareena Kapoor has revealed that her husband, Saif Ali Khan, sometimes finds her approach to choosing films too intense, states Hindustan Times.

The actor, who has increasingly taken on projects beyond conventional box-office fare in her 40s, said Saif has called her “too hardcore” when they discuss each other’s work.

In an interview with Brut India, Kareena was asked who in her family gives her the most unfiltered feedback. With several actors in the family, she named her sister Karisma Kapoor and Saif.

However, Kareena said both are careful when discussing work because actors can be sensitive about their films and performances.

“I think Saif and I are different kinds of actors. Sometimes I say, ‘No, I don’t like this script’. He will say I am too hardcore. Then I tell him, ‘Go do it!’ I mean, we are two different kinds of actors,” Kareena said.

She added that the couple tries not to interfere too much in each other’s professional decisions.

“So, we try not to get into each other’s space because it is difficult. Coming from the same profession, you will have an opinion on certain things and the way you do them. But we have to tread carefully also because actors are pretty sensitive people,” she said.

Kareena also shared a lighter moment involving Saif’s opinion about her upcoming film Daayra. She told director Meghna Gulzar and co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran that Saif had been commenting on the film’s poster.

“Saif was giving his take about the colour of the poster, and I said, ‘Listen, keep quiet! You message Meghna,’” Kareena recalled.

Kareena will next headline Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, marking their first collaboration. Prithviraj Sukumaran also stars in the thriller.

Inspired by true events, the film has been co-written by Gulzar, Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal. Kareena and Prithviraj play police officers in the film.

Backed by Junglee Pictures and Dr Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, Daayra is scheduled to release in theatres on 18 September.

The film will clash at the box office with Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe, a spy comedy starring Preity Zinta and Sparsh Srivastava in lead roles.
