Ducsu Vice-President Abu Shadik Kayem, has stated that there will be no room for corruption in the country if Jamaat-e-Islami emerges victorious in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Addressing an election rally on Saturday, Shadik envisioned a “New Bangladesh” under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami, where hatred, extortion, and corruption will be eradicated.
The rally was organised by the Shyamnagar Upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami at the Nakipur Government Pilot High School field.
During his speech, the Ducsu VP alleged that a specific political party has made public life miserable through widespread extortion and robbery.
He further claimed that in the mere 1.5 years following the July Revolution, this group has already become involved in various misdeeds, including tender manipulation, the misappropriation of farmers’ funds, and continued extortion.
Kayem assured the gathering that individuals who fail to ensure the safety of the nation’s resources and its citizens would no longer be allowed into leadership positions.
“We will choose those in whose hands our country, our assets, and our mothers and sisters are safe,” he said.
Reflecting on the political history of the region, Kayem noted that Satkhira had previously endured extreme oppression and torture. He mentioned that 48 party members were martyred during those periods of persecution but remained steadfast and never compromised with “falsehood”.
He called upon the public to secure a landslide victory in the four constituencies of Satkhira as a “gift” for the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Shafiqur Rahman.
The rally was presided over by the Shyamnagar Upazila Jamaat Ameer, Abdur Rahman. Moazzem Hossain Helal, Central Assistant Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, attended as the chief guest, while Sibgatullah Sibga, Central Secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir, was the special guest.
Other notable speakers included Krishna Nandi, the Jamaat-nominated parliamentary candidate for the Khulna region; Shahidul Islam Mukul, Satkhira District Jamaat Ameer; and Secretary Azizur Rahman, along with other local party leaders.
