Police arrested nine accused in a special drive conducted in different areas of Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga as part of ongoing operations to maintain law and order in the district.
The drive was carried out on 14 May under the leadership of Jibannagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Solaiman Sheikh.
Chuadanga police said the district-wide operations are being conducted under the direct supervision and overall guidance of Chuadanga Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan.
The ongoing drives include operations against wanted accused, narcotics traders, terrorists and sabotage suspects across different police stations in the district.
Police said the nine arrestees were wanted in various cases, including cases filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and narcotics cases. According to police sources, arrest warrants had been issued against the accused by the court.
After the drive, the arrestees were produced before the court. Jibannagar police said such drives would continue to maintain law and order, curb crime and ensure public safety in the area.
