Bangladesh Police has issued a statement informing that the news regarding Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam’s resignation as being incorrect.
They have also urged everyone to refrain from spreading confusion through false information.
Earlier, there was much speculation that the IGP had resigned, with news spreading through the Ministry of Home Affairs and police headquarters. However, no official would confirm the matter, with sources claiming they had merely “heard it”.
At the time, TIMES of Bangladesh had made several attempts to confirm the matter by reaching out to police officials. However, they declined to comment.
Attempts to contact the IGP on his mobile phone regarding this matter were also unsuccessful.
