The newly elected representatives of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) have been nominated for membership in the Senate. The decision was made during the first executive council meeting of the newly elected DUCSU, which took place on Sunday at the lounge adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
The nominated representatives for the Senate are: Vice-President (VP) Md. Abu Sadik Kayem, general secretary (GS) SM Farhad, assistant general secretary (AGS) Mohiuddin Khan, transport secretary Asif Abdullah, and executive council member Sabikun Nahar Tamanna, who secured the highest number of votes.
SM Farhad, the newly elected general secretary, confirmed the decision in a press briefing following the meeting. He said that the decision to send five elected representatives to the Senate would be officially published in the form of a gazette. This nomination highlights the ongoing role these representatives will play in the university’s governance and their involvement in shaping student and academic policies.
