Newly elected Vice President of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Md Abu Sadik Kayem and General Secretary SM Farhad paid a courtesy call on former Ducsu VP Mahmudur Rahman Manna.
Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Md Mohiuddin Khan and executive member Miftahul Hossain Al Maruf were also present during the meeting.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the newly elected leaders visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur, who is currently undergoing treatment there. In the morning, they paid tribute at Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard to the martyrs of the Liberation War and those who lost their lives in July’s incidents.
In Tuesday’s Ducsu election, the Shibir-backed Oikkoboddho Shikkharthi Jote panel won a sweeping victory. Sadiq Kayem was elected VP, SM Farhad GS, and Mohiuddin Khan AGS with a large margin of votes. A day after the results were announced, the newly elected leaders began meeting with former Ducsu VPs.
Mahmudur Rahman Manna, who was elected Ducsu VP in 1981, now serves as the convener of Nagorik Oikya.
