Polling officer of Pritilata Hall, Assistant Professor Jannatul Ferdous, who was involved in the vote counting process for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election, passed away on Friday morning.
She reportedly felt severe chest pain while participating in vote-counting activities and was immediately taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where the attending doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Jannatul Ferdous was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Jahangirnagar University.
According to the office of the JUCSU Chief Returning Officer, she passed away at approximately 9:30am.
Confirming the incident, Associate Professor Shamim Reza, head of the Fine Arts Department, said, “She began feeling unwell during the vote-counting process. We rushed her to Enam Medical College Hospital by ambulance, but the doctor declared her dead. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our esteemed colleague.”
