The National Citizen Party (NCP) has issued show-cause notices to seven of its leaders on allegations of breaching organisational discipline. Among them, five leaders have been temporarily suspended from all party activities.

The decisions were communicated through two separate letters sent from the party’s central office cell on Monday.

According to a letter signed by Sadia Farzana Dina, a member of the central office cell, the five suspended leaders belong to the Dhaka District North convening committee.

They are: Zulker Naeen (Joint Convenor), Israfil Islam Khokon (Joint Member Secretary), Nazmul Huq (Organisational Secretary), Advocate Shaon (Joint Coordinator, Ashulia Thana NCP), and Md. Amanullah Shibir (Member, Ashulia Thana NCP).

In a separate letter, two other prominent leaders of the Dhaka North convening committee were served show-cause notices. They are Azharul Islam Tamim (Organisational Secretary) and Mofidul Islam (Secretary of July Mass Uprising and Liberation War Affairs).

The letters noted that specific allegations of breaching organisational discipline have been raised against these individuals. The party stated that these measures were taken to uphold party discipline and transparency.

All seven leaders have been directed to submit written explanations regarding the allegations against them within three working days. These explanations are to be presented to the Central Chief Organiser (Northern Region) of the NCP, Sarjis Alam.
