The Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers Forum (Blue Panel), backed by BNP, has officially announced its candidates for the president and secretary posts in the upcoming Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election.
AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon has been nominated to contest for the position of president, while Mohammad Ali has been chosen as the candidate for secretary, the panel announced on Monday night.
The nominations were announced following a meeting on Sunday night between BNP leaders, senior Supreme Court lawyers, and BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, according to panel sources.
Under the leadership of these nominees, the Blue Panel is set to contest the SCBA election for the 2026-2027 session.
The SCBA election is considered a significant event in the legal profession, with the bar association playing a key role in shaping judicial policies and protecting lawyers’ rights.
