Sarjis Alam, chief organiser for the northern region of National Citizen Party (NCP), has disclosed details of his assets and income in an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission.
According to the affidavit, Sarjis Alam has Tk 3.11 lakh in cash, and Tk 1 lakh deposited in banks and financial institutions.
The affidavit shows he owns 16.50 decimals of agricultural land received as a gift. The acquisition value of the land was Tk 7,500. Its current estimated value stands at Tk 5 lakh.
His annual income from business amounts to Tk 9 lakh. He mentioned a postgraduate (Master’s) degree as his highest educational qualification.
The affidavit also states that one case has been filed against Sarjis Alam, which remains under investigation. He has no bonds, debentures or shares listed on the stock exchange.
The declared value of his furniture is Tk75,000, while electronic items are valued at Tk75,000.
He owns no firearms. He also declared that he has no house, apartment or building in his name.
In his income tax return for the 2025–26 fiscal year, Sarjis Alam reported a total income of Tk 28 lakh. The return shows his total assets at Tk33.70 lakh. He paid Tk 52,500 as income tax, according to the documents.
