Nagad has launched a new campaign as part of its ongoing efforts to encourage remittance inflows through legal channels.
Under the initiative, customers receiving remittances in their Nagad accounts via international money transfer service Taptap Send will get a cash bonus of up to Tk300, in addition to the government’s 2.5 per cent incentive, reads a press release.
Under the campaign titled “Remittance-e Double Khushi” (Double Joy in Remittance), customers will be eligible for an additional 1.25 per cent cash bonus on receiving a minimum single transaction of Tk10,000 through Taptap Send.
A customer can avail a maximum bonus of Tk300 during the campaign period.
The campaign began on Wednesday and will continue until the 31st of the month. To avail the offer, a customer’s Nagad account must be active and fully profiled.
Meanwhile, under the “Har Na Mana Har” campaign, expatriates sending at least Tk10,000 to Nagad accounts give recipients a chance to win a gold necklace.
Under this initiative, Bonna Khatun, a resident of Madhukhali in Faridpur, became the first winner after receiving remittance sent by her husband Md Farid from Dubai.
Raima Tabassum Rasha became the second winner of the gold necklace after receiving remittance sent by her expatriate husband.
Nagad said the initiatives aim to encourage expatriates to send remittances through legal channels and ensure a more convenient digital remittance experience for customers.
Md Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, head of Remittance at Nagad, said, “Nagad is constantly working to ensure that the hard-earned money of expatriates reaches home quickly, safely, and easily.
This initiative with Taptap Send will make it even more convenient for expats to send home their money.
Additionally, since another campaign is running simultaneously, customers stand a chance to win a gold necklace.”
The initiative is also aimed at bringing extra joy to expatriates and their families ahead of Eid.
