Mutual Trust Bank has decided to purchase 1 bigha of land in Gulshan for its new corporate headquarters, abandoning its earlier plan to acquire 15 commercial floors in the area.
The decision was made during a board meeting on Wednesday, as disclosed by the bank through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday.
Initially, in February, the bank had announced its approval to purchase 15 floors at “The Cube,” a newly constructed 21-storey commercial building in Gulshan, for Tk 450 crore.
However, the bank has now opted to acquire land at a cost of Tk 300 crore and build its headquarters from scratch.
The bank’s earnings per share for the first nine months of the year stood at Tk 1.88, unchanged compared to the same period last year.
Net asset value per share stood at Tk 28.86 at the end of September.
Mutual Trust Bank shares, having a face value of Tk 10, closed 0.83% higher at Tk 12.20 apiece on the DSE on Thursday.
