The metro rail authorities have urged passengers not to worry, stating that Metro Rail operations are being conducted in full compliance with safety measures.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited disclosed the information in a statement on Wednesday.

“For the kind information of our esteemed passengers, it is hereby stated that Metro Rail is operating adhering to all safety regulations. Therefore, passengers are specifically requested not to be concerned regarding safety,” the statement reads.

The statement was issued following a tragic accident at Farmgate MRT station when a bearing pad came loose and fell on a pedestrian on Sunday, killing him on the spot.
