The anniversary of national daily “TIMES of Bangladesh” was celebrated with colourful programmes in Noakhali. On Sunday afternoon, a discussion meeting and civic gathering were held to mark the occasion at the Noakhali District Press Club Auditorium.

The event was chaired by Mahbubur Rahman, the Noakhali District Correspondent of TIMES. Elias Ali Khan, advisory editor of TIMES and former general secretary of National Press Club, attended as the chief guest.

Mahbub Alamgir Alo, convener of Noakhali District BNP; Prof Dr Abdul Kaiyum Masud, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at Noakhali Science and Technology University; Zinat Rehana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Noakhali District; Md Fayer Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) of Noakhali District; and Nahid Hasan, Managing Editor, were present as special guests.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasised that the media must work with honesty and courage to publish objective news and build public awareness. They expressed hope that TIMES would play a pioneering role in society building by disseminating accurate information in the current digital era.

Local media personnel, teachers, political figures, and distinguished citizens from various professions attended the event, which concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the anniversary.
