Elina Shammi was once busy with television presenting and also wrote numerous dramas. Many of her scripts earned appreciation from viewers. However, she eventually shifted her focus entirely to acting and has since built a steady career as an actress.
Alongside acting in television dramas with strong stories, Shammi has appeared in several notable films, including Priyotoma, Gontobbo, Chhayabriksho, Madhyobitto, Jolrong, Kosai, Beauty Circus, Radio and Local.
Her most recently released film was Mizanur Rahman Labu’s Atorbibi Lane.
Shammi has recently completed dubbing for two films. One is Zahid Hossain’s Leela Monthon, while the other is Naziri Sagar’s Dusahos. She plays important characters in both films.
She first drew attention as an actress after appearing in Raihan Rafi’s web film Jaanowar. Shammi learned scriptwriting from filmmaker Tupu Khan. She wrote around 22 to 23 scripts for the series O, which also generated considerable discussion.
Shammi also taught at an English-medium school for three years. During all three years, she was recognised as the school’s best teacher, an achievement she considers one of the major accomplishments of her life.
“I am now a professional actress. I was injured in a road accident recently, but I have recovered to some extent. A few days ago, I completed dubbing for two films. I am hopeful about both projects,” Shammi said.
