Police have detained a youth after he posted a confession on Facebook taking responsibility for setting fire to a police vehicle during a garment workers’ protest in Mirpur.
The detainee was identified as Rajib Chandra Das.
Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur confirmed the detention.
Rajib was detained on Sunday night from a house near Paragon Field area of Uttara in the capital.
The arson incident took place beneath the Mirpur 11 Metro Rail Station during demonstrations by garment workers on Sunday.
Following the incident, Rajib published a confessional post on social media.
Police detained him after tracking the post.
