A motorcyclist died after his vehicle crashed into a tree that had fallen onto the road during a storm in Lakshmipur.
Lakshmipur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) confirmed the matter. The deceased has been identified as Manohari, 28. The incident occurred on the Lakshmipur-Ramgoti Road in front of Bhabaniganj College in the Sadar Upazila at around 12:30am on Thursday.
According to local sources, the victim was returning home from Lakshmipur by motorcycle. He died on the spot after colliding with a tree that had been blown down by sudden gusty winds. Locals then rescued him and took him to a hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
OC said legal action would be taken if a complaint is filed by the family.
