Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (promoted under supernumerary) Md Apple Mahmud has been suspended from service.
The decision was announced in a notification issued on Wednesday by the Discipline-1 branch of Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the notification, a decision has been taken to institute a departmental case against Mahmud, former superintendent of police (Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar Region), on charges of “misconduct”.
The order further stated that placing him under temporary suspension was considered expedient in accordance with Rule 12(1) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
During his period of suspension, he will remain attached to the Rajshahi Range DIG Office and will receive a subsistence allowance as per rules.
