Popular director Kajal Arefin Ome has decided to postpone his throat surgery so he can complete Season 5 of the hit series “Bachelor Point”.
Doctors have advised Ome to undergo surgery for a problem affecting his vocal cord. However, he has chosen to continue working for now to ensure the series is released without interruption and to honour his commitment to viewers.
If he undergoes the procedure immediately, Ome would have to stay away from shooting for an extended period.
This could disrupt the release schedule of “Bachelor Point” Season 5, which is currently streaming on an OTT platform. The production team may also struggle to maintain its planned schedule of releasing eight episodes each month.
In a video message, Ome explained his decision and said he feels a responsibility towards his audience.
“If I undergo surgery in this condition, I will have to stay away from everything for a long time. That is why I have decided to finish ‘Bachelor Point’ Season 5 and then undergo surgery,” he said.
“Please pray for me so that I can finish the series, successfully undergo the surgery and recover,” he added.
Ome first fell ill in June after suddenly losing his voice. Following several tests, doctors found a polyp cyst on his vocal cord. They advised him to take complete rest for seven days and avoid speaking.
Although his condition improved to some extent, the problem continued even after three months. Doctors have since recommended surgery for a complete recovery.
For now, Ome has chosen to complete “Bachelor Point” Season 5 before undergoing the procedure. He plans to focus on his treatment after finishing the season.
