A woman and her daughter were allegedly stabbed to death inside their residence in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Laila Afroz, 48, wife of AZ Azizul Islam, and their daughter, Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz, 15. They lived on Shahjahan Road, adjacent to Dhaka Residential Model College.
Upon receiving information, Mohammadpur police officials rushed to the scene. They said an investigation is underway, with initial focus on the household’s domestic worker.
The motive behind the double murder has yet to be determined.
