Nora Fatehi has responded strongly to online criticism after calling for global peace amid rising US–Iran tensions. The actress, who recently shared a video reassuring fans that she is safe, urged viewers to focus on unity rather than discord.
In an Instagram story on Wednesday, shared alongside Holi greetings, Nora addressed the backlash, saying, “I think many people have lost the ability to comprehend, to listen, to think critically – skills we were taught at school. Social media and phones have made it harder for people to engage their minds fully. But I stand firm in advocating world peace and unity.”
She added pointedly, “If my general call for people to live peacefully and to resist chaos bothers you, then there’s something morally wrong. My message was for everyone, across all countries. If it triggers you, perhaps it’s time to reflect.”
Nora reiterated her commitment to promoting peace, explaining, “Today, as I pray and break my fast, I reflect on how speaking about world peace upsets some. That’s frightening. I will always speak for peace and unity, nothing will intimidate me.”
Earlier, the actor clarified that she is in India, not Dubai, and highlighted the emotional toll of repeated global crises. She encouraged viewers to remain compassionate, grounded and united despite events beyond their control.
The comments follow heightened tensions in the Middle East after US and Israeli military operations targeted Iran, reportedly causing significant casualties among political and military leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran retaliated by striking US bases in the region. The conflict disrupted flights across Dubai and other cities.
