As part of Bangladesh Bank’s initiative to expand cashless and digital transactions and the government’s efforts to promote digital payments, Modhumoti Bank PLC has undertaken various initiatives to promote these efforts.
As part of this, the bank organised a roadshow in Gulshan, Dhaka, on 20 August 2026, to raise public awareness about the convenience and benefits of using Bangla QR for digital transactions.
Under the slogan, “One Country, One QR, Transactions with Bangla QR,” the campaign was organised through a procession from the bank’s Head Office to Gulshan. As part of this campaign, a Bangla QR-enabled table topper was placed at a pharmacy in the Gulshan area, read a press release.
Md Shafiul Azam, managing director of Modhumoti Bank, scanned the QR code and completed a payment, encouraging the public to embrace digital payments.
Shahnawaj Chowdhury, additional managing director; Arab Fazlur Rahman, deputy managing director and chief business officer; and Arif Hasan Khan, deputy managing director and chief risk officer, were present on this occasion along with other senior officials of the bank.
During the roadshow, participants carried banners and raised awareness among local merchants and the general public about the use and benefits of Bangla QR.
During the campaign, Modhumoti Bank provided its merchant customers with Bangla QR-enabled table toppers featuring unique QR codes for display at their business establishments.
The initiative is expected to play an effective role in reducing the use of cash and promoting a more modern and efficient payment ecosystem.
