Miscreants shot a youth, leaving him critically injured in Begumganj, Noakhali.
Begumganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, and the victim has been identified as Faruk Hossain, 27.
According to local sources, Faruk was standing by the road when three to four miscreants arriving in an autorickshaw opened fire on him. He collapsed with serious bleeding injuries as the attackers fled.
Locals rescued Faruk and took him to Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital, where sources said his gunshot wounds are serious and his condition remains critical.
OC Shamsuzzaman said, “We are at the spot and looking into the matter. The full details will be known after speaking with Faruk.”
