The Annual Business Conference 2026 of Midland Bank PLC, covering Branch, Sub-Branch, Agent Banking, Islami Banking, Retail Sales, Institutional Banking, SME, NRB, Cards and Treasury businesses, was held on Friday.
Independent Director of the bank, Riaz Ahmed Choudhury, attended the conference as the special guest, according to a press release.
The conference was inaugurated and presided over by Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, managing director and CEO of the bank.
Md Zahid Hossain, deputy managing director and CRO, and Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar, deputy managing director and head of IT & CRO, were also present, along with members of the Senior Management Team (SMT), heads of divisions, unit heads of the Institutional Banking Division, heads of branches and sub-branches, and the CEO of Midland Bank Asset Management Company Ltd.
At the beginning of the conference, Didarul Islam, CFO of the bank, presented an overview of the bank’s overall business performance.
Md Javed Tarek Khan, head of Institutional Banking, along with unit heads, the head of SME and the head of Treasury Division, made presentations at the conference.
Khondokar Toufique Hossain, Head of ID, presented the ID business performance of the bank. The business performance of the Institutional Banking Units, SME, Treasury, ID and NRB Banking was reviewed, the 2026 annual budget was assessed, and strategies for achieving the targets were discussed.
Md Rashed Akter, head of Retail Distribution Division and Chief Bancassurance Officer, along with area heads, cluster heads, heads of branches and sub-branches, head of Branch SME and Retail Business, head of Cards, Head of Agent Banking, head of Retail Sales, manager of Islami Banking Window, manager of Financial Literacy Wings, and managers of Project, Process, Product Development, Digital Transformation and Bancassurance, participated in the conference and presented their analyses through presentations and demonstrations.
The business performances of branches, sub-branches, cards, Islami banking, agent banking and retail sales were reviewed, the 2026 annual budget was assessed, and strategies for achieving the targets were discussed.
During the conference, the managing director urged all concerned to ensure excellence in service, help clients meet their financial goals, remain compliant with regulatory guidelines, maintain asset quality, ensure recovery of non-performing loans, and deliver returns for shareholders.
A prize-giving ceremony was held at the end of the conference, where the bank distributed crests and certificates among top performers in different categories.
