Gold prices in Bangladesh have surged sharply once more, with the price of 22-carat gold climbing by Tk7,640 per bhori (11.664 grams) to stand at Tk2,62,090.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price hike through a press release on Saturday.
The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk2,50,193 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk2,14,443 per bhori, and traditional method gold is set at Tk 1,75,485 per bhori.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a rise in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged in the local market. Currently, 22‑carat silver is selling at Tk6,357 per bhori, 21‑carat at Tk6,065, 18‑carat at Tk5,190, and traditional silver at Tk3,907 per bhori.
