Fresh from his Best Actor victory for ‘Sinners’ at the 98th Academy Awards, Michael B. Jordan celebrated in a delightfully low-key way, heading to a local burger joint while still in his tuxedo. The actor was spotted ordering burgers and fries, with his golden Oscar trophy in tow, creating a moment that has since gone viral on social media.
Jordan took home his first Oscar for his portrayal of twin brothers Smoke and Stack in the supernatural thriller Sinners, becoming the sixth Black actor to win in the leading actor category. Shortly after the ceremony, he visited an In-N-Out Burger, where fans and staff eagerly greeted him.
Videos circulating online show the actor signing autographs, posing with his trophy, and settling in to enjoy his meal.
Social media users praised Jordan for keeping his celebration simple and relatable. Many called it the “most real post-Oscar moment,” highlighting his grounded approach amid Hollywood glamour.
One fan wrote, “Michael B. Jordan celebrates his Oscars win the real way… at In-N-Out Burger,” while another commented on his kindness and enthusiasm towards fans and staff.
During his acceptance speech, Jordan paid tribute to trailblazers in the film industry. He acknowledged Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith and Halle Berry, emphasising the influence of those who came before him.
“To be amongst those giants, those greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guides… Thank you everybody in this room and everybody at home for supporting me over my career,” he said.
Jordan’s win came after competing with Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon) and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).
The 98th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on the evening of March 15.
