The service line relocation work under the MRT Line-1 underground metro project began on Thursday night at 10pm in the North Badda and Badda metro station areas.

In a statement, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said the country’s first underground metro rail, being implemented under the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-1), aims to reduce traffic congestion and promote environmental sustainability.

The notice further stated that during the line relocation activities, traffic congestion may occur on Bir Uttam Rafiqul Islam Sarani. Commuters and drivers using this route are advised to allow extra travel time and, if possible, use alternative roads.

DMTCL has also sought public cooperation in the interest of national development projects and expressed regret for any temporary inconvenience caused.
