Among the five films released this Eid-ul-Fitr, the action drama ‘Domm’ has stood out, drawing strong audiences to theatres. Based on a true story, the film stars Afran Nisho, Puja Cherry and Chanchal Chowdhury.
Since release, the movie has been running at full capacity, with producer Shahriar Shakil noting that Domm currently has the highest number of shows at Star Cineplex.
The film, Redwan Rony’s third production, has received widespread acclaim online, with popular actress Mehazabien Chowdhury joining the chorus of praise.
In a detailed social media post, she described her viewing experience as “truly exceptional,” adding that the film transported her to another world in Afghanistan.
Mehazabien noted the sense of confinement and tension throughout the story, feeling repeatedly trapped alongside the characters Noor and Rani, which made the experience emotionally intense.
She singled out Afran Nisho for his performance, saying he has set a new benchmark in portraying his character. Mehazabien also praised Puja Cherry for her brilliant depiction of Rani and commended Chanchal Chowdhury for his consistent excellence, highlighting his engaging character and precise comic timing.
Concluding her post, Mehazabien congratulated director Redwan Rony, calling Domm a “great comeback” and noting that the team’s efforts and challenges in foreign locations were vividly reflected on screen. She applauded the entire crew for successfully bringing such a demanding project to life.
Produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and Chorki, Domm generated considerable curiosity even before its release.
The film marks the return of Dolly Zahur to the big screen after a long hiatus.
The screenplay was crafted by Redwan Rony along with Rabiul Alam, Robi Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al Amin Hasan Nirjhar and Md. Saifullah Riyad.
