The Eid holiday box office has found an early leader in ‘Domm’, which continues to draw full houses across major cinema halls, cementing its dominance among this season’s releases.
Headlined by Afran Nisho, the film has seen a steady rise in show allocations at Star Cineplex. By its third day in theatres, it was running over 30 screenings across the multiplex chain, with all shows reportedly sold out. The figures place it comfortably ahead of competing titles currently in circulation.
Other Eid releases are trailing behind in terms of screen presence, with ‘Bonolota Express’, ‘Rakkhosh’ and ‘Pressure Cooker’ securing fewer daily slots within the same circuit.
Audience reactions have played a significant role in the film’s upward trajectory. Viewers have highlighted its scale, visual ambition and polished technical execution, with many suggesting it signals a shift in the standards of local filmmaking. Social media responses have been particularly strong, with several praising the film’s cinematic quality.
The project also marks a notable moment in Nisho’s career, as he continues to establish himself in feature films following earlier appearances in ‘Surongo’ and ‘Daagi’. For director Redoan Rony, the film represents a return to the big screen after a long gap.
Co-starring Chanchal Chowdhury and Puja Cherry, the film is inspired by real events and has been cleared for universal viewing. Backed by SVF Alpha-i in collaboration with Chorki, it blends a survival-driven narrative with a strong musical component.
The soundtrack features a reimagined rendition of a classic by Sabina Yasmin, alongside original compositions that have added to the film’s appeal.
