Five more children have died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8:00 am on Saturday, raising the fatalities from the disease and symptoms in Bangladesh to 648.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), all five of the latest fatalities have been recorded as suspected measles deaths.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles-related deaths has risen to 556, while the number of laboratory-confirmed deaths remains unchanged at 92.
The DGHS reported 733 new suspected measles cases during the reporting period, raising the cumulative number of suspected infections across the country to 84,899.
Meanwhile, 63 new laboratory-confirmed cases were identified, bringing the total number of confirmed measles infections to 10,248.
Health authorities said a total of 69,606 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since March 15.
Of them, 65,852 patients have recovered and been discharged, according to DGHS data.
The health authorities continue to monitor the outbreak as concerns persist over the rising number of infections and fatalities, particularly among children.
