US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen has hailed the country’s latest aircraft purchase agreement with Boeing as a “win‑win” for bilateral relations.
Christensen made the remarks Wednesday in a post from his verified X account.
Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin confirmed Thursday that Bangladesh has signed the agreement with Boeing to acquire 11 new aircraft as part of efforts to expand the aviation sector and open new international routes.
The deal follows Bangladesh’s earlier $3.7 billion agreement in April with the US aircraft manufacturer to buy 14 planes for national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, marking the airline’s largest‑ever aircraft order.
