Macaulay Culkin, who famously played Kevin McCallister in ‘Home Alone’, has revealed he is open to returning for a potential sequel. Speaking during his ‘A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin’ tour, the actor said he would consider revisiting the role if the concept “was just right.”
Culkin shared a storyline idea in which Kevin, now a widower or divorcee, is locked out of his own house while his son sets the traps. “The house is a sort of metaphor for our relationship,” he explained, with the plot centring on Kevin trying to “get let back into his son’s heart.”
The original films made Culkin one of Hollywood’s biggest child stars, but both he and director Chris Columbus distanced themselves from later sequels, which were less successful. A 2021 Disney+ reboot, ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’, also failed to capture audiences.
While no sequel has been confirmed, Culkin’s comments give fans a hopeful glimpse of a new chapter in the iconic franchise.
