Popular director Chayanika Chowdhury is marking 25 years in the industry with a new drama titled Rehearsal, starring Partho Sheikh and Sadnima Binte Noman.
The story, dialogue and screenplay were written by Chayanika’s son Anannya Pratik Chowdhury. The drama marks Sadnima’s first collaboration with Chayanika, while Partho has previously worked with the director.
Chayanika said Rehearsal will first air on a television channel before being released on playwright and lyricist Md Jamal Hossain’s YouTube channel, Rongdhonu Entertainment.
Partho said he enjoyed working with Chayanika and felt fortunate to be part of a production marking her 25-year directing career. He praised the script and the entire team.
Sadnima said she was especially happy to finally work under Chayanika’s direction after an earlier opportunity did not materialise.
Chayanika thanked audiences across Bangladesh for their continued support and said their love has inspired her throughout her career. She also praised her son’s story, saying viewers would be surprised by its unexpected premise.
