Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered firearms in a special operation on Thursday night in Babutipara union under Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla.
RAB-11 and CPC-2 Company Commander Major Sadman Ibn Alam said the operation was conducted based on a reliable tip-off. The seized arms include one Chinese rifle and one locally-made rifle. The arms, wrapped in plastic sacks, had been discarded in a canal.
He added that inscriptions on the firearms indicate they were likely the weapons looted from the highway police outpost.
RAB’s operation to identify and arrest those involved in the incident is ongoing.
