Israeli documentary ‘NAZA’, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, premiered at the New York Film Festival as the filmmakers seek to spark debate over Israel’s military actions in Gaza and US support for Israel, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
The film features anonymised interviews with around two dozen Israeli military veterans, who discuss their experiences during the Gaza war.
Abraham said the documentary aims to encourage Americans to examine US military support for Israel, while Szor said it is also intended to reach Israelis who have remained silent about the conflict.
The film has drawn both support and criticism. A pro-Israel protest took place outside its New York premiere, while Israeli media responses have included criticism of the documentary’s context.
‘NAZA’ is scheduled for a US theatrical release from 9 October. Abraham and Szor previously directed the Oscar-winning 2025 documentary ‘No Other Land’, which focused on the West Bank.
