Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Country Director Jihoon KIM paid a courtesy call on the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The meeting was held at the minister’s office in the Secretariat on Monday. It involved detailed discussions on the progress of ongoing development projects between Bangladesh and KOICA, as well as future planning and various aspects of cooperation.
During the session, both parties discussed the potential for initiating new projects and cooperation in several key areas, including poverty alleviation, tackling climate change, the construction of climate-resilient infrastructure, agricultural expansion, and sustainable rural development.
Both sides expressed optimism that the existing friendly relations and development cooperation between Bangladesh and KOICA would be further strengthened in the future.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Junsu KIM, Secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Mohang Showkat Rashid Chowdhury and other senior officials of the ministry and departments.
