Popular actress Jaya Ahsan has been reappointed as a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Goodwill Ambassador for the third time. She will continue working with UNDP to promote and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Jaya first took on the role in 2022 and served a second term until December 2024. With her contract now renewed, she will remain a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador for another two years.
Expressing her excitement, Jaya told the media, “I am happy to continue this journey with UNDP. With only five years left to achieve the SDGs, their importance is greater than ever. This is a collective responsibility, and I am committed to doing my part so that together we can build a better future.”
UNDP Resident Representative Stefan Liller welcomed her reappointment, saying, “We are delighted to have Jaya Ahsan as a Goodwill Ambassador again. She is not just a renowned artist but also a strong advocate for a sustainable and just society. I hope her work will help bring the SDG message closer to citizens.”
On the acting front, Jaya was last seen in the Indian film Dear Maa, where she stars opposite Chandan Roy Sanyal. The cast also includes Shaswat Chatterjee, Dhritimaan Chatterjee and Malayalam actress Padmapriya Janakiraman.
