Janata Bank PLC held its divisional branch managers’ conference for Bogura on Wednesday to review operations and guide lending activities across the region, according to a press release.
M Fazlur Rahman, chairman of Janata Bank, attended as chief guest while Md Abdul Alim Khan, general manager (in-charge) of the Bogura office, presided over the programme.
Kazi Abdur Rahman, deputy managing director of the lender, was a guest of honour.
Area heads of the divisional office, executives and branch managers from the region also participated.
Addressing the meet, the chairman instructed branch managers to ensure loans are disbursed to reliable borrowers after assessing their repayment capacity and willingness.
Besides, Rahman emphasised the need to verify whether a borrower has the mentality and ability to repay before approving loans.
