Jamaat-e-Islami has postponed its planned rally of women activists at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, which was scheduled for Saturday.
The decision was announced Thursday afternoon on the women’s wing’s official Facebook page.
The rally was intended to protest alleged attacks and harassment of women activists of Jamaat during election campaigning in different parts of the country.
The protest programme was announced on Tuesday at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Mogbazar by Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.
