J-Hope of K-pop group BTS has marked his birthday with a substantial charitable donation, contributing ₩300 million, approximately $207,000, to support children in need.

According to Asan Medical Center and ChildFund Korea, the singer divided the funds between medical and educational causes. A total of ₩200 million was given to Asan Medical Center to aid the development of its children’s hospital, while ₩100 million was donated to ChildFund Korea, an organisation dedicated to child welfare.

The hospital said the contribution will be used to enhance medical facilities for young patients, as well as to expand home care and psychological therapy programmes for children battling serious illnesses.

In a statement released through the medical centre, J-Hope expressed his hope that the children supported by the initiative would be able to look forward to brighter futures and pursue their dreams free from hardship.

J-Hope has been a regular supporter of Asan Medical Center since 2022. With this latest gift, his cumulative donations to the hospital have reached ₩500 million.

Meanwhile, his contribution to ChildFund Korea will fund scholarships for students in his hometown of Gwangju. The charity will select recipients from Kukje High School and Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School who require financial assistance to continue their studies. The artist has supported students at both schools since 2019.

Following the latest donation, J-Hope has become the 14th member of ChildFund Korea’s Green Noble Trinity Club, a group comprising individuals who have each contributed at least ₩1 billion
to the organisation.
